From 2020 we were tested by the pandemic, its traumatic effects still felt .  Now, many are struggling with a confected cost of living crisis tightening the screw of austerity.  In addition we all, at some level, experience climate anxiety, abandoned by performative identity politics and frustrated by the futility of protest, as ‘business as usual’, dumb with denial, continues to consume the planet in pursuit of impossible exponential economic growth. 

To be brought, to the edge of despair and to feel undermined by uncertainty are rational human responses.  How then to navigate our lives effectively?  We can repair and resource through ‘skilful means’, through self-knowledge and successful practices.  Plus, we can build resilience in grief and gratitude in solidarity with other human struggles of resistance, also seeking common cause and communion with the community of all non-human beings with whom we share our planet.
